Mock Work Health and Safety Trial

The last event for National Safe Work Month event 2023 is a mock work health and safety trial.

Join NT WorkSafe for an opportunity, not only to see how alleged offences are prosecuted under the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011, but also to understand the legal obligations around managing psychosocial hazards in the workplace which came into effect on 1 July 2023 in the Northern Territory.

The trial is for a fictitious incident where a young worker working for an IT company was subjected to relentless bullying, harassment and inappropriate behaviour by her manager for over a year.

The prosecution will allege this behaviour lead to tragic consequences, with the company and manager facing charges of industrial manslaughter.
