Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before participating in the Darwin Sister City Award – Visual Storytelling Photography Competition (the Competition).

General

City of Darwin is the host of the Competition. Entry into this competition deems acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. All information relating to the competition on this website also forms part of the Terms and Conditions. For any inconsistency, please refer to this Terms and Conditions.

City of Darwin may also cancel or suspend this competition if an event beyond the control of City of Darwin affects the integrity or conduct of this competition.

City of Darwin will disqualify any individual who has vandalized the entry process or any other aspect of this competition.

Deliberation

If any of the shortlisted images are found to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions, City of Darwin reserves the right to disqualify them.

Prizes

Winners will be announced on the website and social media.

All decisions from City of Darwin are final.

Any prize recipients subsequently found by City of Darwin to have breached these Terms and Conditions must return any awarded prize within 30 days of a request to do so. City of Darwin will make the final decision on what to do with the prizes.

City of Darwin will not be responsible for any costs associated with winning or delivery of the prizes unless specifically stated in these Terms and Conditions.

Cash Prizes will be sent to the winner’s nominated bank accounts.

Rights

All copyright remains with the photographer/entrant.

By entering the competition, entrants agree that photos submitted can be used by the City of Darwin for advertising purposes and future initiatives free of charge. City of Darwin will credit to the photographer if it is applicable.

City of Darwin will not be liable for any third-party misuse of images.

Each entrant acknowledges that City of Darwin is under no obligation to use their entry.

Collection of Personal Information

City of Darwin collects and manages personal information to provide services to the community and to conduct local government functions. The community provides personal information such as name and contact details to access services, ask for help, make payments, and provide feedback.

City of Darwin manages personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles (IPP) of the Information Act. The IPPs are a roadmap for the lawful and secure collection, storage, use, and disclosure of personal information by City of Darwin. City of Darwin also manages personal information following the Local Government Act, which requires us to protect our Elected Members and staff from undue intrusion into their private affairs.
