Archie 100: A Century of the Archibald Prize is a touring exhibition on display at MAGNT Darwin from 15 April - 25 June 2023.

Australia's oldest and most prestigious portrait awards, the Archibald Prize, celebrated its 100th birthday in 2021. To mark the occasion, the Art Gallery of New South Wales presented the touring exhibition Archie 100: A Century of the Archibald Prize.

Archie 100 celebrates the winners and losers, the controversies and the commonplace, and above all, the artists who have made the Archibald Prize the most sought after accolade in the Australian art world today.

Q. Do I need a ticket to visit Archie 100: A Century of the Archibald Prize at MAGNT? A. Yes, general admission to MAGNT is free but entry fees apply for the Archie 100 exhibition.

Q. Will tickets be available to purchase at MAGNT? A. Yes, you can purchase tickets in person at the Information Desk upon arrival.

Q. Do I have to bring a printed ticket to MAGNT? A. No, you can redeem your digital ticket at the Information Desk on arrival.

Q. Can I use my ticket on a different date than originally intended? A. Yes, providing you let us know at least one day in advance. To transfer your ticket, please contact the Information Desk on (08) 8999 2806 between 10:00am and 3:00pm or send an email to info@magnt.net.au. You will need to provide us with name the ticket was booked under, the date of your original booking and the date you would like your ticket to be transferred to. We will then make the transfer and send a new digital ticket to you via email.

Q. I booked my ticket but now I can't make it, can I have a refund? A. Yes, we appreciate plans change and refunds can be made up to 24 hours before the date of intended use.

Q. Are there any age restrictions to the Archie 100 exhibition? A. No, the works can be viewed by visitors of all ages. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Q. Can I take a pram into the Archie 100 exhibition? A. Prams are permitted inside MAGNT's galleries however there may be capacity restrictions for the Archie 100 exhibition on the day of your visit. The ability to allow prams inside Archie 100 will depend on the number of people already in the exhibition and we thank you in advance for your understanding.

Q. What facilities are provided for people with babies? A. There is a dedicated Parents Room and additional baby changing facilities at MAGNT.

Q. Will there be wheelchair friendly access to the exhibition? A. Yes, MAGNT provides ramp or chairlift access to all of its galleries. Free wheelchairs are also available to those in need for the duration of their visit, we advise phoning ahead to reserve one for your visit.

Q. Are there any Conditions of Entry at MAGNT that I need to be aware of? A. Yes, there are size restrictions on bags and backpacks permitted inside MAGNT's galleries. Items that are deemed too large must be stowed in a locker or drawer located behind the Information Desk. Umbrellas, tripods and trollies must also be stowed. Bottled water must be carried in a bag and cannot be consumed inside the galleries. Food and drinks are not permitted inside and must be stowed in a locker, this includes snacks for small children.

Q. Can I take photographs inside the Archie 100 exhibition? A: Yes, flash-free photography is allowed.

Q. Is there a cafe and shop at MAGNT? A. Yes, MAGNT has an independently run cafe, Saltwater@Bundilla and The Store at the Museum, both are open 7 days a week.

Q. Is MAGNT open on public holidays? A. MAGNT is open all year round, except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday.

Q. How do I get to MAGNT? A. Visit the MAGNT website for information about public transport and parking, as well as directions and a map.
