Study in Tropical Darwin

My name is Ellie and I'm from Vietnam. I have always wanted to study and live in Australia. I have been in NSW and Victoria ..  and these are good places to live and study .. (but) I came across Darwin and got to know this is a tropical city in Australia. I love tropical weather, it reminds me of Phu Quoc Island, my second home.

I paid a short visit to Darwin before I enrolled to CDU. I always wanted to start my own business that’s why I determined to take a 2-year MBA (Professional Practice) course. I was happy that Darwin has a lot to offer. It’s peaceful, people are friendly and I just love the vibes.

I was lucky to get a job within the first week of arrival to Darwin. My advice is to never stop looking around for job opportunities. Online, walk-in, word of mouth are all worth a try. It’s important to expand the social network and gain the local work experience. It does not only give us a little bit of extra cash, pay for our bills but also help students immerse into local workforce and create a foundation needed once they graduate. Australia has a LOT of slangs that I find it difficult at first LOL. But it’s all good I get used to it in time.

When I graduate from CDU, I wish to join Australian professional workforce. I will be looking to work in marketing. Future plan is to hopefully get some more years of work experience in Darwin and to settle down because I love living here.
