Darwin to Kalymnos
Darwin has a vibrant Greek community with the majority from Kalymnos. Kalymnos, an island of Greece and close to the Turkish coast, is known for its rock climbing and sponge diving.
Darwin has an established Greek community, dating back to the early 19th century with an increase in the 1950s when postwar immigrants arrived to work as sponge divers and on pearling luggers.
